The Year 10 Eltham Hill School Netball Team have achieved 1st Place in the Greenwich Schools Netball League for the first time in our recent history. The team defeated The John Roan 18-6, Greenwich Free School 10-1 and St. Paul’s Year 11 team 12-10. The girls also took victory over the Year 11 team from Blackheath High 12-8.
In addition, the squad of 9 came 1st place in the Year 10/11 Greenwich Schools Netball Tournament last term, beating off stiff competition from St. Pauls, The John Roan, Greenwich Free School and St. Thomas More. Despite being one of the youngest teams at the tournament their hard work, teamwork and resilience shone through to secure 4 victories back-to-back.
This is the most successful netball team that Eltham Hill has produced in recent years and that is down to the dedication of the players who attend training as a squad every week without fail and passionately want to be the best individual players and team that they possibly can be.
The PE department would like to extend our congratulations to all the girls; Whitney Tia Morgan (GK), Faith Osideko (GD & Co-Captain), Esther Idowu (WD), Beatrice Kyere (WD), Hannah Lam (WD), Semait Asiru (C & Co-Captain), Anne Laurianne (WA), Iwinosa Egharevba (GA) and Elisa Musai (GS) and wish them the best of luck for their next season, starting in September.
