A group of Post 16 students in Year 13 have been accepted onto the Creative Mentoring Network Scheme. This Network gives young people opportunities to meet with a professional mentor that specialises in a creative job such as media, music, photography, advertising, theatre and much more.
CMN gives students the experience to meet with a mentor who will give them support and contacts that will lead to work experience in the creative industry. The mentors will also help them to understand in more depth, the role of the job that they would want to pursue and also other jobs which tie in with the same industry.
One of our group has already been paired with her mentor (see report below) and the others will start in January.
The Creative Mentoring Network has paired me up with a mentor who works in Human Resources for the advertising company, Grey. I have an interest in media, social media and digital marketing and hope to move on to an Apprenticeship. The company has done work for big brands such as Lucozade, Adidas and recently, Marks and Spencers. It has been a pleasure to have the opportunity to meet up with people in the company who work in departments such as digital marketing and production and find out about the roles available in an advertising company.
