On Tuesday 30th January School Council representatives from Eltham Hill School attended a leadership training day at Greenwich Free School hosted by The Greenwich Youth People’s Council (GYPC). Our students presented their current campaign ideas and discussed the structure of student leadership here at our school. They then had the opportunity to co-create a project with students from neighbouring secondary schools for the GYPC to focus on this year in the Greenwich Borough. Students voted to educate their peers on gang cultures and knife crime. Eltham Hill School Council then came back together to plan how they would tackle this within our school. They have begun planning a day of workshops, activities and visiting speakers to educate our students on this topic to be delivered before the end of the summer term. I look forward to seeing their ideas come to life.
