This book was emotional and inspirational. It was about a refugee called Subhi. He was a young, quiet boy that loved the stories and experiences people told him. His best friend is called Eli. Eli was a positive, headstrong boy who looked after Subhi whenever he was in trouble. However, later on in the book, Eli is taken away. This shakes Subhi’s confidence. Subhi has a sister called Queenie. She is mostly sarcastic but has an amazing heart. Subhi’s mother is always tired which shows she is finding life hard in the camp. Subhi’s father is lost but he believes his dad will return to him.
This book deserves four stars as it demonstrates the emotional side to the tough life of refugees. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves interesting stories and emotional experiences.
