EHS students in year 10 completed their Bronze Practise and Assessed Expedition walk in North Downs this year. Students have been attending weekly sessions on topics such as:
- Equipment and Rucksack Packing
- Hazards & Country Code
- Menu Planning
- Stove safety and use
- Practice Route Planning
- First Aid
Students also worked independently outside school as volunteers in their community, developing a new or existing skill and to improve their physical fitness. Despite the normal moans about how difficult it all was, I was very proud to see all the groups showed great team-working skills and determination at the end. Some have already said they want to eventually go on to complete their DofE Silver award.
Application forms have already gone out to year 9 students for the Bronze award in 2018/19. Please return them to Miss. Charlotte Case in September.
I wish you all the very best for the future.
