Summer Exams for Years 7, 8, 9, 10 & 12 2019/2020
Due to the uncertainty we find ourselves in and the lack of clarity as to when schools will be able to reopen we have decided the following for the summer exam season:
For students in Years 7 and 8 we will not be running summer examinations. Teachers may want to set assessments during lessons when school does reopen but students do not need to worry about this as the main purpose of these assessments will be to assist teaching staff with planning for future lessons.
For current Year 9 students we will ask teachers to set a suitable assessment, in lesson time, within the first term back at school.
For the current Year 10 and Year 12 we hope to run the Pre Public Exams PPEs, in the usual way, as soon as is reasonably possible following the school reopening.
Parents and pupils should not worry about the exams, we will provide timetables and revision checklists as early as possible to give pupils adequate preparation time and information they need to succeed in these exams.
The registration, submission and running of all accredited qualifications producing external exams is handled by our Examinations Officer, Nancy Lewis. Should students feel there are any issues pertaining to their exams Mrs Lewis runs an open door policy between 8.00am and 3.30pm. Students are welcome to pop-in and discuss any issues with her. Mrs Lewis can also be contacted via email or telephone:

JCQ Information for Candidates
The following documents are required reading for all students who are sitting exams. The JCQ (Joint Council of Qualifications) determines the procedures and policies which all awarding bodies and exam centres have to agree to adhere to. One of the responsibilities of the Examinations Office is to ensure that every student knows the required regulations and reads the policies:
