On Monday the 21st of May 2018, the school council planned a #VOTE100 day for students to mark 100 years since Parliament passed a law that allowed the first women, and all men, to vote for the first time. The objective of the day was to educate our students on the history of the vote, voting laws, what we vote for and why.
We held a bake sale at break time, selling cupcakes with #VOTE100 on them – we raised £55! At the end of the day, during registration years 7-10 did a project around #VOTE100, whereas years 11 and 12 registered to vote.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day a success, we hope you all had fun and enjoyed it!
