Celebration of Achievement

An evening of glitz and glamour arrived at Eltham Hill on Thursday 10th October with our Celebration of Achievement Evening. This annual event allows us all to celebrate the excellence, happiness and success of our school community and to give praise to those students and colleagues who go above and beyond to achieve their own personal bests.

The evening was punctuated with some fine musical performances, on arrival parents were treated to Lily Yarrow’s piano performance of ‘Je Te Laisserai Des Mots’ by Patrick Watson, Sidney Fook’s piano solo of ‘I Giorni’ by Ludovico Einaudi and beautiful vocals by Alice Tskay who sung ‘From the Start’ by Laufey.

During the interval families were entertained by Hazel Palmer’s rendition of ‘Quiet’ by Tim Minchin. The evening closed with a fantastic saxophone solo by Katie Hayden-Phillips of ‘Misty’ by Errol Garner.

A whole host of awards and prizes were given to students for their academic and personal successes, whilst the extensive contributions of three members of staff, Ms Potter, Ms Hillsden and Ms Kenny were also celebrated.

Following some wonderful hospitality and catering at the beginning of the event, guests and award winners were also treated to a guest speaker Rachel Brown, Director of Communications and Strategy for entertainment company SISTER. Rachel has worked for the BBC and ITV and joined the government in 2010 as a Press Officer before working at No 10 Downing Street under Teresa May and Boris Johnson as Head of BAME and Faith Communications. She was an inspiration, just as many of the evening’s award winners will be future trailblazers in theirs.

We wish to extend our thanks to the parents, teachers, guest speakers, facilities team and – most importantly – our wonderful students for making the evening such a success. The photographs of the evening can be downloaded from our website here.

We look forward to celebrating more fantastic achievements with many other students and colleagues in autumn 2024.
